I have seen the pics comparing the '67 only gauges to the '68 and up gauges. Is it possible that Ford used up what they had before changing to the new style? These are the '67 only style but it wasn't a '67 F600. Maybe it is a '68 with a left over gauges? I guess it's possible it was swapped out but, I doubt anyone was swapping whole dash panels in an old work truck. Any thoughts?

re: F600 gauges '67 vs. '68 and up
I'd say it's very likely what happened. What's also possible is that the info we have about that style being '67 only isn't entirely accurate. It's simply based on what I've seen and what's been reported to me by other forum members. However, this is the second instance in the last few months where we've seen this style of gauge in something other than a '67 truck, so who knows? But I suppose it's something we should try to figure out.
I don't suppose you happened to figure out just what year that truck really was, did you?
In the future if anyone gets one of these from a junkyard truck, it would sure be great if you could take a second and jot down the VIN so that we can ascertain the year, and maybe try to get to the bottom of this once and for all.

I will be going back, not this weekend coming up but the next, to get the dashpad out of the same truck. I will definitely get the VIN#. I thought of it too late when I was there on Saturday.FORDification wrote:I don't suppose you happened to figure out just what year that truck really was, did you?

got the vin tag right here for my new truck.
and here is the dash. not the greatest pic, but it looks the same as the above style. And I am pretty sure that this is a late '68 truck.

Nice Vacuum gauge! I'm still trying to locate one. The speedo looks the same as the ones used on the slick sides, too. Maybe they redesigned mid year in '68 and had to use up stock before they switched over to the new style. I won't be back, to the F600 in the junk yard, until the weekend after next. I will get the VIN# then. With the info I've seen lately, I'd venture to guess the truck is a '68.
