Do I have the wrong hood?

Bought some hood letters from LMC cause I got tired of the truck being a "FO".

Got the 67-69 letters from their catalog but they don't match up to the holes on the hood.

Wondering if the hood was changed on my truck at some point. Any way to tell from the pic??? Title and VIN show this to be a 1968.

Yep, you have a '70-'72 hood, somebody just removed the hood lip trim piece. Here's a comparison shot of the hood letters:



On top is the '70-'72 style, on bottom is the '67-'72 style. The later versions are larger and as you've found out, the mounting pins are in different locations.

Besides the lettering.. any other difference between the early and late hoods ???

There are some minor cosmetic differences in the bottom bracing, but that's about it. Check out the photos at the following link (next-to-last entry):
