c4 driveshaft hooking up to a c6
Hey guys next weekend I am planning on bringing home the 71 F-100 swb that will supply the frame, bed, rearend, and driveshaft for my lwb to swb conversion. I was wondering if the driveshaft that was made to hook up to the original c4 that I think came in the truck will bolt up to my c6 without lengthing or shortening.

Ok thanks I really appreciate. Looks like I am going to have to start looking for a shop that can lenghten my driveshaft a bit.

I could be wrong, but I think most shops will prefer shortening a driveshaft as opposed to lengthening one. It's always much easier to remove material than to add it. You might try finding a driveshaft that's too long and just have them shorten it. However, you can ask them what they think first, it might not be a big deal either way.

Yeah I figured it would be alot harder to lengthen one. If the second shaft is longer on my 250 I might try to get it shortened and then have it adapted to fit a transmission. I haven't ever really looked at it, but I think the front is meant to fit a carrier bearing, and that is probably different.
