Whinning 3.03

Post by 71 LONG BED »

Not long ago 2nd gear and reverse, in my 3.03 trans, started whinning or moaning. (not sure how to descibe it and I'm sure you guys can't hear me imitating it  ). 1st and 3rd are still fine.
I hope it isn't what I'm thinking. :( Any thoughts are appreciated.

Pull the kat off the back of the motor and the whining will stop.

Hey hossw71SportC, I knew you were making a funny but I didn't get it. I felt bad that I didn't, and wasn't sure how to answer. :D
As far as the oil level, not to sound too stupid, but were do I check it? I guess the full level will be obvious.

On that tranny I think it is a square plug on the drivers side of the tranny.

The correct fill level would be where the oil just runs out of the plug when you take it out.
