Transmission rebuild
I have a c6 out of my 72' parts truck that I plan on swapping into my 67'. However while it was in the 72' it was leaking quiet a bit. I'm thinking that it is probably the front seal but not sure. So, I think I'll just rebuild it before installing it since it's 34 years old. Typically how hard of a job is it? Where can I get a rebuild kit and how much do they typically cost. I have the haynes ford automatic transmission overhaul manuel and it doesn't look to hard but I've never done this before. Thanks

re: Transmission rebuild
it shouldn't be all that hard. i don't know where to get one ebay or the parts store. cost free is always best. it shouldnt be that much. get more than one quote though.

re: Transmission rebuild
you do know the '67 is the red-headed stepchild of the bumps, right?
I just mention this cause there might be a problem swapping parts from the '72 over to the '67. things like pedals and things might require a bit of research and/or modification to work right.
BTW
you are in good company in Bonney Lake, our very own moderator and 4x4 expert (OK that might be an exageration

Yeah, I've already encountered some problems when I used the power steering parts and brake booster off my 72' but there's always a way to make things work with enough effort and research!

re: Transmission rebuild
Actually they've changed my city twice in the past year or so. First it was sumner, then bonney lake and now lake tapps. So even though I haven't moved my city has changed twice and my zip code once. So, it was really not my choice to live in bonney lake!

re: Transmission rebuild
The C6 is stupid simple. Make sure the end clearance is in spec and you're good. Good beginner trans.

How hard is a MX to rebuild. I have done a lot of engine work, but never a tranny.
