re: Gauge wiring
OK, here is a little update. I went to the junk yard and pulled an 11 pin plug. I followed Keith's wiring diagram and have the gauges ready to go, finally.
I still need to cut into the harness under the dash but at least I have a plug. Originally I was going to solder an individual plug on each wire. ![Image](http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k131/haas522/smilies/doh.gif)
Hopefully I can finnish this weekend. I am getting psyched!

<EDIT> I was half asleep when I looked at this last post. I do know what you mean and I don't know if the wiring is the same.

re: Gauge wiring
OK, finally I installed my gauges. Everything went great. The color of the wires was even the same on my harness as the F750 gauges. The only glitch is my temp gauge isn't working. I did see it move kind of. Now I think it isn't moving at all. And my tach is pretty bouncy. Probably 2-3 hundred RPM's of bounce. Looks like a mechanical tach.
Here are some pics. See the big smudged finger print?
I should have cleaned it off before the pics.

Re: re: Gauge wiring
Great info, Keith! This chart made it very easy. The wires actually matched up color for color except one. The black with green stripe in position 4 is purple in the '71 F100 harness. All of the rest match up perfectly. Thanks again.FORDification wrote:OK, here's a quick diagram I just whipped up of the F600 instrument panel connector:
Position 1 - black - IPVR ground
Position 2 - light green w/white stripe - left turn signal indicator
Position 3 - orange - fuel gauge (FULL side)
Position 4 - black w/green stripe- IGN tab of IPVR
Position 5 - white w/red stripe - oil pressure gauge (high side)
Position 6 - light blue w/red stripe - gauge illumination
Position 7 - NOT USED
Position 8 - white w/blue stripe - right turn signal indicator
Position 9 - green w/black stripe - hi-beam indicator
Position 10 - red w/white stripe - temperature gauge (high side)
Position 11 - yellow - ammeter (charge side)
Position 12 - red - ammeter (discharge side)

will the guages from a 67-69 work in a 70-72? If it is the guages i have a 67or 68 full instrumentation guage i could pull parts out.
My Fuel and altenator and temp don't work but my oil does. Is this even the guages? the fuses are all good. And I tested the wires and guage on the fuel it didn't not move even when i grounded them. I realize that the wire could still be unplugged in the dash.

what about at the guage itself is it the same? would the studs that hold it in on the 67-69 be wired the same?

If you have a 70-72 dash the printed board on these units have been known to self destruct. If the oil works, then the IPVR would be working. Check continuity between the oil power and the fuel and the temp gauge locations. You could simple run a jumper from the 5V side of the IPVR to the power side of the 2 gauges that are not working to see if the printed board is bad. As discussed a number of times, the alternator gauge generally does not appear to work because the needle movement is so small.
