I have the dana 60 w/4:10 gears, I'm considering putting in 3:73's if I do this will I need to change the axles also? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

nope as long as your new gears are out of the same type of axle ex: d60-d60 or 9"-9". 9" gears don't fit in a d60 to well.

There are two Dana 60 carriers:

- 3.33 - 4.10
- 4.56 - 7.17

As long as the ratio you want to swap uses the same carrier, it's a simple swap (relatively speaking, of course).

keith , i have the 456 dana60 , do you mean that i can't go with say 373 without changing the housing and every thing else.
