3 on the tree

the other day i was driving down the road in 3rd gear and came up to a red light. i push the cluch in and went to put it in 1st but it was stuck in 3rd.

now my ? is can i just get rid of the collum shifter and put a flor shifter in and has any one done it ??

Yes they even have shifters for it.

Been done many many many times.

Just look at either a B&M or a hurst.

BOth are good and can be easily purchased.

Just go to your local car parts store or order from jegs.com, summit racing, or whoever you like.

other that cutting the hole in the flor, is there any other cutting or welding or is it just a bolt together thing.

has any one ever convert there collum shifter to a flor shifter using a Hurst 3-speed Indy pick-up truck shifter

and if so did the kit come with everything you need or did you have to make/modify anything

I have been looking into this also as future project. You have to watch which shifter kit you get some don't come with the boot/cover its extra $$....

I have a hurst 3spd on my truck, I had to bend one top mounting peice just a bit. I just put it in my vice and pulled on it for a few seconds.
