Hi:
I bought a pair of rear parking brake cables from LMC and they seem too short! They won't reach the equalizer.
Have any of you purchased rear brake cables? If so, where did you get them from?
The LMC catalog shows different sets for 68-69 and 70-72. My truck is a 68 so I got those, but the rear end I'm putting in is a 72. I don't understand what the different would be but I thought I'd thow out that piece of info.
Thanks in advance.

How short are they? About 16"?
A couple of the LWB trucks that I've parted out had roughly 16" cable extensions. (That's the measurement that's sticking in my head, but might not be 100% accurate.) The rear cables are the same for SWB and LWB, but since the LWB is longer, the factory used extension cables to reach the equalizer.

On my 4X4 Highboy LWB I found the same thing.. The cables coming from the drum were the same as the SWB, but it had extensions to reach the equalizer.

Interesting. The cables that were on the truck (and attached to the D60 rear end I am switching out) did not have those extension. Maybe they started out with different lengths from the factory but just had one length for replacement part, thus requiring an extension.
As far as how short they are, 12"-16" could be right. If I pull them very tight I am still several inches away from the equalizer at it's furthest extended point, and I know I need a little slack.
I wonder if this extension is a universal type thing I could get at Napa? I'll have to hit them up tomorrow.
Thanks very much for your help. Any other's experiences are welcome also.

Yeah there seems to be some discrepancies about the e-brake cables, long bed vs short bed. And very hard to find them in the catalogs. Mine (sb) seems to have one longer than the other - like it had been replaced at one time, and the e-brake pedal is uneven.

Well they don't have something like this at Napa. I'm sure I can buy them from inline tube, but does anyone have some extra's off your parts trucks I could buy?
here's my parts wanted post.
