Rust Patch Panels

Post by eking66756 »

Just registered. Found this site recently. Looks like awesome info and tech help. My 14 year old son and I have just started a full frame-off resto on a 72 F250 2WD Custom ( 390, 4speed, Dana 60, dealer-installed A/C)that belonged to my Grand Dad. Have lots of questions. Hope to get them answered here!

Rust - I am hooked up with LMC Truck that seems to have many patch panels except for the interior "kick panels" by the vents. Does anyone make panels for this area or do I need to fab my own?

Suspension - my boy wants to lower which is cool but I don't want the frame dragging and I don't want to be fighting tire clearance issues. Any suggestions on the easiest method to drop say 3" in back and 2" in front? What size wheel/tire combo/backspacing etc??? Any applications for the airbag systems I have seen? Any experience with these??

Thanks and I'm sure we'll have many more questions as we progress.

There are no patch panels available for the kick panel area, those will have to be fabricated. No biggies, since they're just flat steel anyway.

There's a basic tutorial on lowering at the following link....it'll get you started:
