Planning to upgrage the rearend in my 72 F250. I have a bad leaf and need to get both rears altered or replaced when I do the rearend.
Anyone know leaf springs are rated? These are the orginals in what should be an F250 Custom I believe, non Camper. I have a 69 F250 that is a Camper and I like how it feels ride wise and load bearing vs. the other truck. Problem is, I need the former to carry the loads/tow most of the time.
For the fronts, anyone know the coil rates for both trucks? Has anyone experimented with aftermarket springs? What rates? Have you tried progressives?
Ultimately though I've heard 19.5s are rough because of higher recommended pressures, I plan to use them. I already have 6 225-70-19.5s. I just need wheels now. Because tire pressure is alot like spring rate, I should probably stay on the softer side with the spring and may consider progressive to reduce harness and get a stout set of shocks.
leaf/coil spring setups, ready for upgrade
