I think everyone is familiar with LMC and their catalog, I have a question about one of the pieces that they sell. They have listed a bench seat rebuild kit for our trucks for $29.95. I am curious if anyone out there has tried this (or anything like it) and how well it works? My bench seat has terrible sags and missing upholstery, I just don't want to waste money on a product that will not fix my problem like I want it fixed.

what is in the kit? whats the part number or page number.

Here's the page. I just used some foam I had at the house and built my seats up before I put the new upholstery on them. It worked fine. You could probably get the same stuff from a local shop or a crafts store that deals in fabric.

in my opinon for what the kit has in it no i wouldn't get it. my reasoning is if the seat is needing recoved the recoving shop will put new foam in it. also if you have access to another seat you can get springs from the another seat. hogs rings can be had at the hardware store.

Slightly off-topic but still about seats....Does any body know if Ford van seats will fit in our trucks?...I know they have sort of a pedestal attached to the mounting brackets...I'm redoing my interior and I would love to put in buckets....The junkyards here are loaded with old vans and I'm wondering if they're easily adaptable...

Someone answered this question before ..but I firgot (memory was the first..er 2nd thing to go)
I have a 68 F250 and want to put in a more comfortable seat. What years would be the simplest to bolt in?
I would like to find a bench seat with the console, but I heard somewhere they were not available in black...tell me it isnt so. Also the upholstery shop here in town want $500 for each bucket to recover. Sounds awful steep!
Anyone in my area have any???

I think the cutoff was 95 in the f150 and 97 in the f250&350. 500 seems to be pretty pricey, for 500 a bucket you could order a 40-20-40 seat with console in the middle from a couple companys. There is always a few on ebay just for a refrence.

I think a trip to the wrecking yard is in order. I hear a 91 Ford seat will simply bolt in or with minimal effort

Hi folks,
For what it's worth, I had the seat in my '67 F-100 re-upholstered in black leather and had the upholsterer "fabricate" the seat to "simulate" bucket seats. I then had the Ford "Blue Oval" embroidered into the center of the upper back seat and it turned out faily decent. The cost was $1200.00 and I get as many compliments on the seat as I do the truck. I'll try to attach a photo below for you. Hope it works.
