Manifold Bolt Length

Post by 390xlt »

Does anyone know what length bolts I should get for the exhaust manifolds? I need to order some, but I don't have a bolt here to measure. I guess the length of the top ones isn't too important, but I don't want them to be too long on the bottom.
Thanks

Don't know the dimensions you're looking for but I bought a set for my 351w from these guys. https://alloyboltz.com/product/229-pc-f ... -bolt-kit/ For the price it can't be beat.

Thanks for the link. They've got the header bolts listed as 1", so I think I'll add another 1/4-1/2" since the manifolds are a little thicker, and they should fit fine.

As I know the correct bolt sizes for the exhaust manifold bolts for 352, 360 and 390 FE engines are

3/8-16 in.

A search engine research will confirm this

It was the length I needed. A tape measure confirmed that 1 1/4" should work.

Sorry, I misunderstood that...

From what I now 1 1/4 in. length should work - I bought some spares with that measurements recently... 8)

I bought a set for a 360 from them too - nice quality set for an unbelievable price and with great service and communication

They changed the header-bolt-set into an original cast iron manifold set with no extra cost in the correct size :yt:

Good to know those guys are there. When/if I ever get to pull the engine, I'll order a whole set from them

I also bought a set for the 289 in my Fairlane when I resealed the engine. Everything was perfect except I had to buy 1 extra long bolt for the water pump because she had power steering and the kit was basic. Everything is segregated by application and clearly labeled. Will buy again if needed.
