frame help

Post by lothar3122 »

I just purchased a wrecked 1969 f-100 and i was wondering what is the best way to fix the frame where the front bumper bolts to it (the first four inches or so is mashed beyond straightening)

thanks

I'd just cut that 4 inches out and weld on a replacement piece from a donor truck frame.

yea you could but weld it and use a fish plate with bolts to hold it even better.

I would probably use something stronger than a ceramic plate though.

Even if it has a pretty picture of a fish on it
