paintjob

Post by 1970F250SC »

im just tryin to get ideas for a paintjob/color scheme for my truck, its a 1970 f250 2wd, and i am making it a rat rod.. the truck itself is going to be flat black, but as for the color for the wheels and the pinstriping ( i can do pinstripe art) i cant think of what color i should use. so any ideas would be welcome thanks __ jeff

Flat black? I would think dark red would go good for the pinstripping.

:hmm: REAL RAT RODS ARE BLACK PRIMER, AND NOT MUCH CHROME.
for old time looks red works for the rims and white walls, to add some looks slap on some cheep beauty ring and some chrome lugs.
Personally I dislike white wall tires. & like black or gun metal metallic wheels with beauty rings and chrome lugs, with a performance tire letters out, & lower profiles on the front.
For pin strips I cheat and get peal and stick red flame pin stipe it about 3/4" wide and put it over silver or white pin tape. Also you need a windshield decal, the flaming white ford one from Wallmart works. And don't forget a V8 sticker thats important.
And 6" or so to your shifter and add a 8 ball If it can be seen from the front of the truck that is the best. The cheep fluffy red seat adds an interior touch. Along with bare metal floor pans with Black Kight roof Patch, Available at Home depo. & some cheep black floor mats.

You should also think about the spark plug in the rear of your tail pipe.
Pull out your choke stomp the gas add 12v and blow some flames! :D

Man how do I add pics. :hmm:

Red has been done and done again. It does look good, don't get me wrong, but I would personally want something a little different. I'm thinking Bright Orange or Bright Green like Ladz said. Course you could do white or some kinda light color. but I still think Bright Orange would be awesome. Especially with some fat lines down the side along the bottom or where the trim was.
