Hello Fordification! I'm the lucky owner of a 1971 F-100. It was my friend's in high school and has since sat for nearly twenty years. My friend always intended on retrieving the truck and fixing it up, but since he lives in an apartment (and will for the foreseeable future) with no space to work on a car, he decided on letting it go.
From decoding the VIN it appears to be a 302. It's also 2wd, long bed, and from what I can tell it looks like it has the auxiliary gas tank under the bed. It's been the home to hundreds of black widow spiders and I've spent quite a while attempting to kill them all.
Fordification has already helped me a lot. I've spent a lot of time on other vehicle forums for my other cars, but so far, it really seems like Fordification has a ton more information than other forums. It's going to be a great resource.
Currently I'm just going through finding what needs to be replaced before I really dive into the truck. It looks like it will be quite a project. Looking forward to utilizing Fordification and talking with others.
