Windshield and rear window rubber problems

My 69 F250 truck still has the original glass and rubbers. My problem is that the rubbers are getting some sticky residue on them that makes cleaning the glass next to impossible. The rubber smears across the glass.

Has anyone used any kind of cleaner / dressing to address this? Have you ever heard of this before?

You could try a mild solvent (mineral spirts , denatured alcohol ) on the rubber to get most of it off , but I doubt you'll ever stop the transfer .
You just have to be careful around the seals.
