Hello from San Antonio, Tx

Post by 69fordranger »

Just a quick hello to all....I have a '69 Ford Ranger with 390 V8 and I am hoping with some professional help and some of my own ingenuity to do a ground up restoration. I love everything about truck except that it is a LWB, long-bed. I was fascinated to see Stacey David (Gearz) actually shorten the frame on a 67 Chevy truck, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9zy08qsahk) and I figure if he can do it, then so can I.

I can handle shortening the frame to short bed specs, but the problem is finding an actual shortbed to replace the long bed. I see where some guys actually do 2 cuts into the long bed to shorten it down but I would prefer to find a good short bed or an actual '69 short bed that I can salvage from.

After that I'll turn to suspension, engine and transmission, wheels, tires, paint and interior.

If anyone out there has suggestions as I plan this project, I would welcome all comments.

Thanks to you all.
