New hub install question
1970 high boy,Dana 44 closed knuckle. I installed a new set of Warn H/P hubs .my question is, when I removed the old stock units a large spring came out with the hubs. When installing the new hubs does the spring go back or not? To me it didn't seem like it. Thanks, MIke.

Re: New hub install question
I have the same setup and I know that mine still has the large spring in it. From what I can see is that the large spring is used to keep the gear that locks the hub disengaged when not in use. Hopefully that makes sense.

Re: New hub install question
if I recall right the warn hubs came with like a three fingered spring. that shoud take the place of the large spring in the factory style hubs

Re: New hub install question
Ok,cool, thanks. But here's where I'm a little confused. When I compair the depth, or height... Whatever, when I lay the old next to the new, face down, the new is twice or more deeper, which Leeds me to think that the new unit might have it's spring internal, plus the kit came with all new replacement part's. No spring included... I might contact Warn and ask them. If anyone knows, let me know. For anyone interested keep checking back here for Warn's answer.thank's, Mike.

Ok. For future reference, the factory spring is not used on the Warn " High Performance" lock out hub. I called warn and they confirmed it.i did'nt ask about the standard hub.
