rock auto body panels?

Post by yarko »

Hey everyone. I'm new to the bump game. I recently bought a 67. I need the usual cab mounts and cab corners. Are the parts from rock auto any good?? I've heard some horror stories about lmc parts. Thanks in advance

If the cab mounts are a 1 piece stamping then you don't want them. The best cab mounts are made by Dennis Carpenter, There made the same as factory ones and fit when you install them. You pay a premium for them but how much is you time worth fighting something that don't fit ?

It is rumored that the sheet metal reproduction parts and patch panels that LMC, Dennis Carpenter, National and a few others sell are all manufactured by the same company in China. I can tell you horror stories using both LMC and Dennis Carpenter patch panels. I can tell you this that hazelnut is spot on about Dennis carpenter's cab mounts, they are the best on the market. So all I can really say is to pick your poison wisely.

Thanks again guys. My dad bought me cab mounts and cab corners from a company in Michigan while he was there. They seem to be made from substantial material. The cab corners seem to fit decent. I haven't tried the mounts yet. I would have loved the Dennis carpenter parts but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. I'll let you know how they work out

Hi yarko. :hi: I know where you are coming from. I'm retired but my plate is overflowing with honey does, working on the house, yard work, grand kid's ball games and church etc etc... Today I wanted to work on my 68 F100 Flareside truck but no such luck. Had to do yard work so maybe tomorrow. LOL
