Hello. I found this site by searching auction sites for old F250 camper specials.
I was sitting here in Maryland looking out at the snow coming down and realized I want my 1969 F250 sage green and white Camper Special back or one like it. It had a 360 4 speed manual and I remember the split rim wheels and roof and side marker lights and dual tanks. And the tool box on the body, that was cool.
I was 19 or so years old when me and a buddy drove across country to Seattle Wash towing a 57 chevy sedan delivery full of tools for a friend that was moving out there to go to work for Boeing.Interesting trip to say the least especially since I had to keep it running all the way back home because the starter burnt up somewhere in Wyoming. And it's spooky coming down the rockies with the brake fade the way it was back then towing a trailer, thank goodness for the pull off ramps that were put there for this reason.I think I used them.
Anyway, I'll keep poking around until I find one I can restore. I'm getting old now but I've got one left in me.
