1970 F-100 rescued!

Post by JbTech »

1970 F-100 built in '69. Bought new by my 98 y.o. grandpa. He's still kickin!

Great guy with all his marbles! Great to talk to, with alot of memories including Black Friday and the Hindenburg!

He was tired of this truck and sold it for scrap 3 weeks ago. Cryin shame!

I was on a journey to rescue it from the scrapper, after all, I learned to drive in this truck 30 years ago!
Not often you can grab memories from the past!

These are about the best pics I have out of the junkyard. Silly sorry pics for now!
Wife was not pleased about stopping at the junkyard for our Anniversary on the way to the beach.
She's a trooper!

Having it hauled this week from New Jersey to Ohio! My son and I are excited!

Pre-edit. How do you direct link pics from PhotoPhuckit or Imageshack ?
tried 2 different ways and didn't care for the link.

Welcome from Tennessee.

You should be able to just copy and paste the URL referenced on the picture. That's how I do Photobucket.

Thanks for the help!

Ive been told the truck runs, moves under its' own power, but won't stop! So brakes are in the near future!

By end of week we should have it in Ohio and be able to start on stuff!

Thanks for all the help!

On Photobucket, it is the IMG link which is the 4th link down (bottom one) under the "share links" next to the picture.

Wow awesome save! It's an extremely nice truck to have gone to waste. I'm relieved you were able to save it from getting crushed.

:D

Had the truck delivered to a local truck stop last night!

Went over it real quick with a flashlight. Looks the same as the pics I took in the junkyard, but overall it's in much better shape than I expected!
I did find the drivers side cab mount is pretty much gone. As far as bad news, that's about it.

On the upside, I ended up with a bunch of shotgun shells!

Should get it off the trailer today and get better pics!
Let's hope there are no more suprises! (Except the good ones)
