Newbie from TN

Post by IN2FORD »

Several years ago I was at the Nashville speedway watching an open track event. Watching a bunch running the road course. While I was there, I met Brian Finch and another buddy of his I cant remember his name. If you have seen Faster Than a Redneck, Brian is the guy that runs the 70 Silver camaro(its now white). He also drove his buddies C10 in one of the shows racing it with a bunch of hay in it. Well the day I was at the open track event I saw the C10 for the first time running the road course. I knew then I had to build a Ford version. I have loved hot rod F100's for years but was stuck in the world of Foxbody Mustangs and Lightning trucks. Well I was cruising craigslist and found a guy that had done the Crown Vic swap and the Explorer rear swap but wanted a project that was mostly done. He specifically wanted a Mustang. So I contacted him, week later he had my Mustang and I had the truck. Below is a pic of it when I brought it home. I am loving and using this site a bunch. Tons of good info here!!

Thanks everyone. It's actually coming apart. I have the bed off getting things ready for a Mustang tank. I guess I will go with a efi tank. Most likely whatever motor I end up with will have efi. Also been cleaning the frame. Once I get the tank in, then I need to remove the rear suspension, leaf springs are shot so will be replacing those and doing a c notch. Then on to removing the cab to replace the cab mount and floor pans. guess I need to start a build thread.
