Significance of white roof?

Hi guys, I was just wondering why some bumps have the roof painted white. Was this a factory option or is it a specific year/trim thing?

IIRC, there were three different schemes for two-tone paint with the roof-only scheme being one of them.

Surf the factory literature library here in Fordification and it is shown in one of the sales brochures.

It seems like a lot of the non A/C trucks had white roofs.

Depends what was spec'ed as the second color code.... Meaning, there was a primary color and a secondary color when Tu-Tone was optioned. Then there three schemes to choose from.. regular, deluxe, or combination. Refer to the available combinations below. And for reference, Color Code "M" is Wimbledon White.

The light colored roofs reflect the sun better so keep the cab cooler. Not much, but every little bit helps.
