New Guy From SoCal
Hey guys, so i traded a 95 Mitsubishi eclipse with a blown tranny for this 1969 F-250 Ranger Camper special. Body seems straight and engine runs pretty good and tranny seems to run great with no problems. Only real issue I have is with the brakes, you have to be real gentle on them otherwise they lock up and you dont really stop, just kinda skid across the road as if on Ice. This is my first classic, so dealing with the carb, and 4wheel drums with no power steering is all new me. The truck ran like **** when I got it, but after spending a few adjusting the carb as the screw was almost completely all the way out. I turned it in all the way and the best Ive found so far is just over a quarter turn and it idles great and drives great now. From what the PO said, it was originally a 390 automatic, but they blew the motor and took the current motor and trans out of a 77 bronco. I have all the original chrome just no front turn signals.
