clear over flat black

Post by BlueOvalDave »

Hey all, just finished shortening the longbed on the 67 to a shorty. I've already sprayed the truck in rustoleum flat black prior to the cutdown and now have to respray after the body work. Is it feasible to spray clear over the flat black? Any idea what kind of final finish you would end up with? The hod rod black look is cool for what this truck is but could use some sort of clear topcoat to protect from scratches etc.

any opinions or ideas are appreciated.

There are Satin Clear coats you can purchase. The satin will not give a shiny look if that is what you are looking for.
