Engine decal application

Post by F100 Dad »

Detailing question. I'm going to apply new engine decals to my OEM air cleaner housing and chrome valve covers. Should I apply wax before or after applying the decals? It seems there are advantages to both ways.

After....... Adhesives and adhesive backed decals say "free of wax, dirt, or oils".

IMO there is no advantage to applying wax and then the decals. I would clean well as has been mentioned and then wax.
