Hello from Little Rock!

Post by FREEHAND »

Hello everyone, found this forum and it has been unbelievably helpful so far and I just wanted to say thanks first off. I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself and my truck. Iv'e got a 1970 f100 swb flareside that has a 69 grill and its all manly.... drum brakes all around, armstrong steering, (no heater as of about 3 days ago but its warming up :D ), no AC etc...But I love it that way. It has a 351 windsor with a C6 behind it that "ran" when I got it but the wiring and ignition was junk and It had vacuum leaks from parts that weren't even needed on the intake. I tore all of that off, replaced the old electronic distributor with a brand new points distributor (yes I know that sounds backwards), got the wiring situated like it was supposed to be, rebuilt the carb, put all new goodies on top of the engine, alternator, starter, fuel pump, wires, plugs etc. and now she purrs like a kitten. When I first got it the wiring was an absolute mess. I had not ever done much wiring but thanks to this forum I was able to find the correct wiring diagrams and now I have a truck that everything works on, all the lights, signals, dash etc... So thanks! And hey after I replaced the leaky wheel cylinders, brake lines lines and shoes it'll even stop now! All in all it wasn't too bad and now its drive-able and well on its way to where I want it. I am now getting the bodywork done, this week I repaired the rust and am straightening everything out. Also I'm working on the interior while getting everything ready for paint. It's going into a nice coat of black primer for now and a shiny red and cream interior :D :D :D So heres a few pics as she sits now in all of its "plum-ness" but not for long!!!
