Post by andrewh8235 »

What's wrong with your existing setup? Do you just not have a key? If so, just contact a local locksmith...he should be able to get a new key made for it. Keep in mind that since these were built by a third-party vendor, they don't use Ford keys.

I've got a spare latch setup from a '75, but I'm not sure if it's the same. I don't have a bumpside toolbox door to compare it to, although I think they LOOK the same, the Master Parts Catalog for each generation show different part numbers...so I don't know.

Here's the MPC illustration page showing the bed hardware. You can see how the latch assembly is marked "46112". That's the Group Number (Basic Part Number). The full part number for the latch assembly as listed in the '64-'72 MPC Final Edition (Jan. '75) is C7TZ 9946112-A.

The '73-'79 equivalent latch assembly has the PN D7TZ 9946112-A. I'll have to do some research to see if they're interchangeable.

The reason I need one is because my latch is broken, missing the spring, and I'm missing the lock...and it's very rusted so I'm trying to find a new or used one!
