Cargo light leaks

Post by F100 Dad »

I'm considering adding a cargo light to a 1970 bumpside. Do these tend to be source of cabin leaks? Even with new gaskets?

A Ford engineer I know says even today this is an issue for the cargo/CHMSL lights.

I have had these old Ford trucks for many years and never had a problem with that.

I was thinking of adding one my self since i pulled every thing from a parts truck, i will also for sure be adding a set of LED bed lights that go under the bed rails out of sight..
Might be a option for you..

I'm actually thinking of putting red LEDs in one and converting it to a Center Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) either in combination with some white LEDs for bed light or going with lighting under the rails like you are.
