another newbie

Post by squearl »

Hi,
New member here. I recently bought a 1971 f-100 to restore, and I'm gonna need all the help I can get.
Thanks in advance.

I wanted to add a little about my "new" truck. I have always liked the older shortbed fords, and have been keeping my eye out for one around here (upstate NY). I was talking to a guy at work who lives about three miles from me, and low and behold he had a 1971 f-100 sitting in the field behind his house. I guess he got it from a guy who brought it up from Alabama. The truck was made in Canada, and shipped to Atlanta. Last liscense was Alabama in 2002. If it had sat in that field much longer it wouldn't have been able to be restored. I hope to bring it back to life.

welcomes from all over the country, too cool. Gotta be honest though, the farther I get into my teardown, it's getting depressing, mainly the amount of rust on the cab. I have a welder so I guess I'm gonna learn how to use it. Good thing about that is, my brother in law is an excellent welder. He will give me guidance.
Thanks!
