Tilt hood kit

Post by mnkeeking »

Howdy! Been awhile since I was on. My hood hinges are shot. They still hold the hood up and they still close, but they're shot otherwise. Looking at new old stock or aftermarket replacements, I figured I'd ask if anyone has a suggestion as to a tilt hood kit. Be kind of nifty, and the universal kits I've seen are less expensive than hinges. Does anyone have experience in this area? Looking for all opinions as I won't have the scratch to buy anything big until after the new year.

Thanks,
Joe

I think this was fabricated by owner. I know a fiberglass 1 piece front end is available.

Here's an FTE thread of a Dentside with a tilt hood.. scroll down for better shots. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/12719 ... r-one.html

Notice the lack of inner fenders and use of just the plastic liners. The latches/hood hold downs are probably Jeep.

Here's mine I bought a universal kit for mine and modified My website has it in more detail of how and what I did but here's some pic's of the out come of it. It's a lot easier if the engine is not in you can see what going on and how it going to clear.
