i have a few rust spots on the old 69 that need attention. drip rail, bed seam, and very bottom of the cab corners. i do plan on restoring the truck in the future, but right now i am just focusing on getting her roadworthy, and would like to keep her from any further rot.
how should i treat these spots? Should i remove the rust with a wire wheel, then spray the areas with primer? what type of primer will keep the areas exposed to the elements from further rust?
i know the cab corners will need to be cut and patched, but for now i would like to keep them from getting any worse.
would something like this hold up to the elements? http://www.eastwood.com/review/product/ ... egory/205/ or should i use a Self-Etching Primer?
i have 0 experience with body work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: treating small rust spots?
I would recommend brushing with a wire wheel and coating with east woods rust encapsulator then a coat of epoxy primer/sealer. On the bed seam I'd cap it off with some seam sealer.
