Hello,
Has anyone removed the cab driprail mouldings without damaging them? I'm talking about the skinny driprail moulding that goes around the upper part of the cab-the drip rail surrounds the upper cab to carry rain away & back to run off. Now I can get the ones that start vertically but than the 2 that come together on the roof are the most challenging. It look like Ford used some sort of large spacing crimping machine to crimp them in place. Is there any type of special tool that anyone has used? I tore one up using a screwdriver last year & finally gave up. I just found another donor truck w/some very nice ones on. Please let me know if you guys have any suggestions... I'd really appreciate it. Thanks...

On this site, it was suggested to use a church key (bottle opener) and carefully and gently work around the chrome and loosen and remove the trim.

As Bluef250 said use a bottle opener, start on the ends and slowly work to the center. Also wrap the end of the bottle opener that would contact the bottle cap with tape so it don't scratch the trim.

Re: How to remove drip rail mouldings???
WELL PEOPLE, I JUST COULD NOT FIND A DECENT OLDER TYPE BOTTLE OPENER. SO AFTER REVIEWING OTHER POSTS OF OTHER CAR MAKES, A PLAIN OLD 2" BY 1" BY 15" PIECE OF WOOD DID THE TRICK. I STARTED AT THE ENDS AND JUST PUT THE WOOD AGAINST THE SMALL LIP THAT IS ON THE EDGE OF THE MOULDING. GENTLY TAPPED W/A RUBBER MALLET & IT STARTED TO COME OFF. THEN PROCEEDED TO THE JUNCTION & IT DID POP OFF. THE UPPER MIDDLE ONES WERE A BIT MORE STUBBORN, I HAD TO REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD TO GET A CLEAN ANGLE FOR MY WOOD, BUT THAT BECAME FRUITLESS AFTER AWHILE-I WAS TAPPING STRAIGHT UP, AT 90 DEGREES & IT JUST COULDN'T GET TO THE LIP DECENTLY. SO PLAN B: I GENTLY PUT A 1" EDGE I HAD AGAINST THE LIP & VERY, VERY LIGHTLY TAPPED THE OTHER END & SLOWLY WENT AROUND THE WHOLE LIP & THEY BOTH CAME OFF AFTER ABOUT 20 MINS, NOT BAD, AND NO SCRATCHES OR DENTS!!! WHOOOOOO, HOOOOOOO!!! PUTTING THEM BACK ON MY TRUCK LOOKS TO BE EASIER THAN TAKING THEM OFF, WE'LL SEE...
