New '71 Ranger XLT Owner in Dallas

Post by BradH »

My son and I picked up this straight (except for the whiskey dent in the driver's door) '71 Ranger XLT last weekend off of the Dallas craigslist. I'm looking forward to tearing into it and getting the old girl back on the road. The truck runs well, but has some challenges with it's original C6 which I'll soon be detailing in the transmission forum. Here's what I know so far:

8/70 Kansas City build
Original Dallas truck
Cab floors and corners are rust free, frame and undercarriage are clean and free of surface rust
Small area of pinhole cancer in the forward bed floor
360 / C6
Factory A/C, missing the compressor
Truck runs great and sounds fantastic with duals and cherry bombs!

And the best part - the Texas flag is painted in the bed!

See here for a few pictures: https://plus.google.com/photos/10870371 ... 5933746001

I look forward to getting to know you all as we get to work on our new Bump.

Cheers,

Brad

:wel: from northern California! Nice looking truck, I like the color combination. Those 360 do sound nice when your up to cruising speed and they start to purr. I had a 360 with "super turbo" mufflers and I loved the sound.

Brad,
:wel: from choo-choo town. I like the color too, especially the interior.
But what's up with that steering wheel, never seen one like it on a bump before. :hmm:
