New to This Forum [from Camden, Arkansas]
...well actually, I've been "lurking" here for a little over a year now. I just haven't made any replies until recently.
At any rate, hello 5th generation F100 owners!
My name is Steve and I live in Camden, Arkansas [south-central part of the state]. I've been a Mustanger most of my life. I bought my first vehicle ['68 Mustang] two weeks before I turned 16, in September of '82. 30-years later, I still own my high school car. For the past 11 years or so, I've posted at several vintage Mustang sites under the board name, 'ultrastang'. Now that I have an F100 and a "reason" to be here, it just seemed natural to use the name, 'ultraranger'.
While the '68 Mustang was my first vehicle, it wasn't the first vehicle I learned to drive. The first vehicle I learned to drive was my dad's red & white '68 F100 Ranger, which had been upgraded with all '70 model interior and exterior trim. It had a 360 with a 3-on-the-tree. Only 'creature comfort' it had was A/C.
I had a chance to buy a very solid '69 SWB F100 Ranger in April a year ago, so I jumped on it. Currently, it just has the 240 inline 6, C-4 automatic, drums all the way around, 9-inch w/3.50:1 single track diff. No A/C or power steering but I did recently add a power brake booster from a '75 Ford F350 1-ton truck to my '69.
I have a 5.0L H.O. fuel injected engine from a '90 Mustang GT that will replace the 240-6. A Ford 4R70W electronically shifted 4-spd overdrive automatic transmission from a '98 3.8L Mustang will replace the C-4. The 9-inch will be replaced with the IRS rear setup I got from a 1990 Thunderbird Super Coupe which has rear discs, an 8.8" center section with 3.27:1 gears and a Traction-Lok differential.
My '69 Ranger as it currently stands:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5. '03 Crown Vic front suspension & '90 T-Bird Super Coupe IRS rear suspension:
6. 3.8L '98 Mustang 4R70W overdrive transmission:
7. 1990 Mustang GT 5.0L H.O. fuel injected engine that will be going in the truck instead of the '68 Mustang:
8. The general idea of the look of the truck when it's complete:

Welcome from Chattanooga. Man that is one nice looking 69. Good luck and don't forget to post in the "Project Update" section when you start the work on the truck.

Thanks. My truck is far from flawless but is very solid for a 44 year old truck.feefie wrote:Awesoem ride!! I may need to take a drive down south Arkansas way sometime and check out your rig. Very nice!

I'm guessing you are somewhere in the Little Rock, North Little Rock, Jacksonville, Cabot, Benton area?
