I'm almost certain this bumper branded "Safe-Tee" is period to the truck, but it's in pretty rough shape. Does anyone have pics of what some period stock rear bumpers would look like? Would any 67-72 bumper be correct to use?

Re: Aftermarket rear bumper on 67
I'm pretty sure the step bumpers were a dealer installed item. I've seen so many different brands that were original to the trucks. The biggest difference I've seen in step bumpers, are the earlier ones that wrapped around the lower bed sides. The original on my '72 just ended in a round shape under the taillight.
I also found the factory installed license plate light and bracket on the left side of the filler panel under the tailgate. Bumper was added later. On a lot of trucks in the wrecking yards, it looks like that bracket was just bent up out of the way.
Here's a couple of photos:
1st is from my '72 F250
2nd is from my '76 F150, I've seen this style on the bumpside trucks as well.

Thanks for the info. Well I won't sweat this one too much and keep an eye out in the junkyards for a nicer bumper to put back there.

Dredging up a really old post, but I have the original sales paperwork for my truck, and my bumper is imprinted with the dealer name (Mitchell Motors in Cullman, AL). The bumper was added by the dealer, but not at any extra charge (as in it was standard to install, like 72BahamaBlue said). Hope this helps if anyone still wonders.
