Good morning Lunar Ranger,
Your truck's one of the nicest I've seen--I love that beautiful color!
What's its history? Is it an unusually well-maintained original or a restoration? And what are your plans with it?

Re: Hi from Oregon
Thanks! Not sure of the trucks history, I bought it from a guy that admired it, but couldn't afford to work on it about 6 months ago. It has 75000 original miles, and it has been painted at some point in it's life, I would guess 10+ years ago at least. Other than that, it's pretty original. I have recovered the seat, installed a pertronix ignition, installed a Holley carb, rebuilt the front brakes so far. Lot's of little maintenance projects, and a few others I have in mind. I will be swapping in another Dana 60 with a limited slip and 3.54 gears here in the coming weeks. I am planning on U-joints and center bearing at that time too. Next I think is swapping in the better FOrd power steering. It's my daily driver, so the projects are limited to what I can get done a couple days at a time.robroy wrote:Good morning Lunar Ranger,

Re: Hi from Oregon
Good morning Lunar Ranger,
Thanks for your truck's background! Actually, I suspected that your truck had been fully restored so it's surprising to hear that it's a well-kept original--it is beautiful. You have a real find there. Relative to your truck, my truck's like an Easter egg forgotten in the bushes until September (my truck's shabby looking).
I like your idea to install a 3.54 limited slip Dana 60. That's also a rear end that I'm considering for my truck. Currently mine is a 3.73 standard/open Dana 60.
You'll definitely receive plenty of helpful information on doing the best possible job on your future plans if you decide to start threads on them. It sounds like you're an experienced guy, yet even so, it always pays to tap in to the collective FORDification experience before spending much time and money on something (it sure helps a lot for me, at least).
If you're able and inclined, I'd love to see more photos of your 75,000 mile truck.
