bracket studs

Post by boots »

im taking my radius arm brackets off on my 67 f100. I already grinded down the end of the studs holding it in place to the frame and crossmember, and its still not budging at all. Im not looking forward to drilling each stud, nor would I think I would have to because I already grinded off the end, I tried punching it through also, didnt work.

I did mine with an air hammer.
I used the chisel bit to cut the heads off, and the straight punch bit to push them thru. A little heat might help them along too.

The rivets are swaged into the frame. A good sturdy punch and a 3 pound sledge hammer should take care of them.

I use a center punch and a BFH. or just beat the bracket till it falls off. :-)
