Newbie From Ia - 68 F100
I am in possesion of my Grandfathers 1968 F100 which he bought new (the only new pickup he ever owned). Unfortunately he passed away quite awile back and I have comtemplated rebuilding this pickup just for fun. Not sure what all I want to do, but have really enjoyed reading a lot of the information here and decided to join up.

I'd recommend buying a copy of "HOW TO RESTORE YOUR FORD PICKUP," by Tom Brownell (ISBN 0-87938-726-2). Chapter 3, "Rebuilding or restoring," offers the best guidance I've seen on coming up with a good plan for your truck.
Having a planned approach to fixing up the truck can shave years and thousands of dollars off of your investment, and make the process more fun too.
Here I am talking like I've restored hundreds of cars or something.
I honestly don't have much experience, but those are my thoughts nonetheless.

Hey - appreciate everyone's welcome!! I was born in Winterset (birthplace of John Wayne!!) Have lived in south central iowa for the last 20+ years.
Thanks for the input on the book, looks like a good palce to start. I like the thought of having a plan as opposed to the shot gun approach ( I have done that way to many times - and paid the price!!)
