Good evening Bobby,
That's excellent--I loved the video! It sounds crazy!
What are your timing settings now?

Re: Messed With The Timing Today...
I went from 12 initial to 14. I think it'll like 16 better, I have some higher-than-pump octane fuel in it now and I'm just experimenting with my seat of the pants dyno I really would like to put a shorter gear in the rear and see if that wakes it up off the line. I may need more tire then, too. I could really use a little more converter, too

Hows the truck set up now Bobby?
Gear, engine, timing curve, tranny, converter, etc?
Also sounds like it'd be happy to shift just a little higher

Re: Messed With The Timing Today...
Right now I'm running a 3.50 gear but I have a 4.11 gear set somewhere (I think). The short gear is what I'll run if I ever get to the track.My427stang wrote:Hows the truck set up now Bobby?

Timing curve
1000 4*
1500 12*
2000 20*
2600 24*
Vac advance is 10* at 18"
Trans is C6 with TransGo shift reprogrammer kit
I believe the converter is 2500 or 2800 (prolly 2500 if I remember, can't find the paperwork).
I know I'm shifting a little early, just haven't gotten to that yet either
I think in the video, it shifted early because I was feathering the gas. If I would have mashed it, I'd been on the other side of the road

Bobby, that sure does sound lovely.
Post another video when you can.
I sure did enjoy this one.
Congratulations, you have worked on it long & hard
but it sounds like it was well worth it.
