Good evening PhantomoftheBumpside,

You're the first person I've ever seen here on FORDification using Chinese words--especially in your introductory post! I love it!!!

How are your '68s configured? What are your plans for them, and what's your plan for your future '67?

Phantom Of The BumpSide

Post by PhantomoftheBumpside »

The current driver is a '68 F250 (F253) Custom Cab 360/C6/3.73 Dana60 (built around March 68) in Krylon Italian Olive Satin over Rustoleum Flat Black with a Desert Tan bump line. Going to be wearing 16x8 Modular Steel on front, 16.5x10 Modular Aluminum on back for the winter.

The spare is a '68 F250 (F254) Custom Cab Camper Special 360/NP435/4.10 Dana60 (built around June 68) in original Pure White with a '72 F100 driver door (Aug 71) in Swiss Aqua. It wore a shell for most of it's life, so the bed is just about perfect except for light surface rust. The bed is also loaded with an 18 gal tank, a spare hood and two spare doors and misc other parts...

For the '67 I have a resto-mod vision...M100 Ranger/Custom Cab SWB with completely stock body, period correct custom Ranger style two tone paint (Pebble Beige over Econoline Boxwood Green), with modern drive-line and running gear that is still Ford+Dana and at least looks like most of it could belong there - 4.9L I6 / 4R70W / AWD / 4WD / IFS / IRS / 4f-6r dropped stance...

@ Robroy - I speak several languages.. including z80 and x86 machine, I've also been under the hood of several OSes including the BSDs and various other flavors of *nix and still have my original beta floppies of Castle Wolfenstein.

@ Cowbay - I will be posting up pics of the Bumps.. my wife isn't into most of the things I am into either, so I'm never surprised if I end up sleeping in one of the Bumps after spending too much time on them and not on her projects.

@ MrMajestyk - Thank you for the welcome. Love that color on the Bump.

@ Big Blue 72 - Thank you for the welcome. I am also in Washington State. Tacoma area to be vague... Sumner if I am being more exact.

@ Fireguywtc - Thanks for the welcome. If that '67 turns up missing, you can't prove a thing, I haven't been to Texas since umm.... 1987. Yeah... that's it... 1987.

Good evening PhantomoftheBumpside,

Well this is certainly the first time I've seen somebody write "BSD" on FORDification. :) Sounds like we have some things in common. Do you speak Chinese by any chance? Now that would be a weird coincidence: two guys who like Bumpsides, Unix, programming, and Chinese. Even without the Chinese it's unusual!

FORDification 是最好! :D

* Forgot to mention... Thinking about doing a full network in the eventual project truck... WiMAX connection to the internet with a BSD web server, WiFi router for traveling gear, headliner mounted 10.1" android tablet for nav & commo and a pop-up rig with Sony Blu Ray (w/Internet Apps), xBox360 and HD flat screen in the bed for entertainment when tailgating...

Ok. My pic is now my avatar and the Baseline Pics are up of the project truck "War Horse", ready for the New Year. The world can now hold me accountable for my progress, of lack thereof, from this point forward.

As we can see, the current project truck is basically all original with a nice dose of Kylon and Rustoleum, a lot of which was sprayed by my 10 year old daughter and the two neighbor boys who are something like 7 and 9. Didn't turn out bad since I almost had things masked, but they were anxious to spray so... there ya go.

Image

The Krylon and Rustoleum is just to keep the rust slowed down while I pull together time, money and parts to work on her.

We shall see what happens...

I threw this one in just for Robroy, hopefully he won't have a stroke...
