Older and older

Post by gcroix »

Hello all. I have been a member for quite a while, but it has been some time since I have been on the site. I have had several Ford trucks, and I seem to keep buying older and older ones. 81 (F-150), 77, 73, 72, 69. Now I went and bought a 65 F-100. I realize that this site is for 67-72, but I thought someone here could answer two questions for me. First, how useful is fortification.com for me now/is there another site (besides FTE) that has older Ford truck forums? Second, this 65 has a 352 (I believe), three speed, and manual steering. It needs new tires and I am contemplating going to a smaller tire as I think the tires currently on it are too wide. The tires on it currently are 265/75 R15. Is the original size? Thanks!

First off... :wel: back from Georgia! I don't have much experience with the "slicks" however, I have seen a number of people posting questions about them. Seems like, at least from a mechanical standpoint, there are a lot of similarities between those models and the bumps. I'm sure one of the other members will reply back with some more useful information but I have seen people directed here when they needed something we couldn't provide. http://www.slick60s.com/portal.php Glad to have you back!

Hopefully the guys over on the slick site can help with this.

I live in Stockbridge and work in Alpharetta. Tell me about commuting. I swapped tires from 275/65 to 236/75. Ahhh, so much easier to steer now.

I just picked up on the GA thing. I live in Pickens County and work in Alpharetta, too. But my drive from North to South is a whole lot smoother than your South to North, I bet. I've been to Stockbridge and I don't envy your commute through the concrete jungle. Nice to meet ya, Gary!
