New in Minnesota
I was fortunate enough to land my wife's grandfather's bump. He bought the truck new in '72, I'm told for $2,800.00. It was built in the now closed St. Paul assembly plant. After a short stint with a step-grandson where all of the dents, dings, and the busted out grille came from, it is now mine. It has 67,000 actual miles on it, a 390 with a C-6 and a Dana 60 rear end. Grandpa Nick quit driving it in 1980.

She's a little rougher than I remember... I wish I had got a hold of her before that kid did, but on from here. I've already learned a lot about my truck and I haven't even asked a question yet!

Welcome from Oklahoma!
Solid looking old Ford.
& a Ranger XLT to boot! That woodgrain tailgate panel is a real dream boat. Looks like it's dent free from the pic. Hang on to it. They're very hard to find in good shape. BUT, if your future plans don't include using it, i'll gladly take it off your hands.

the F-Series roll down the line in St.Paul back in the day.

from NE Florida. Looks like a great, solid start to a project. I have started with much rougher in the past but I'm too old and ornery now!

Re: New in Minnesota
I'm very happy to have found this forum. There is more information here than ANYWHERE ELSE. I am equally impressed with the collection of authentic training filmstrips, brochures, and such.
I've always had soft spot for these era trucks. When I was a kid I worked for a neighbor who was a farmer. He had a '68 F100 with an in-line 6 and three-on-the-tree, no power steering, no chrome, no frills. I learned how to drive in that truck. I always wished that I had bought it from him when he traded up.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad to be a part of this, and hope to be able to contribute someday soon.

Re: New in Minnesota
After cleaning out the cab a little, I was surprised to find things in pretty good shape.
