New Member..... Hello!
Hello all
I am in the process of aquiring a 1968 F100 Ranger package truck. It has been in our family since 1980, owned by my father.
The truck is in decent shape and needs some brake work ( it pulls to one side when brakes are applied) to make it road worthy. I replaced the master cylinder several years ago for my dad, I am thinking the flex hoses are the problem now
It is equiped with the 360 ci engine, with 3 speed column shift.
The VIN is F10YNC00363, which would indicate that it was built in Norfolk, Va, likely in the first week of 1968 production, if I am reading the decoder right.
It has non-power steering and non-power brakes, original AM radio. Mileage is 108K. The paint is two-tone, with a tan over cream scheme, with cream colored interior paint.
I will post up some photos when I see it next.
My goal is to get it looking sharp enough to take to local cruise-ins and hopefully use it to pull a 3500lb trailer ( car hauler with a little British car) to British car shows. So I guess my first question would be what is the towing capability of this truck?
I have looked over this website and have already learned alot, and look forward to learning more from you guys as time goes on.
Thanks,
Sam Maw

The truck will be a little light and a little lean on power to be towing that trailer around. Your gear ratio will matter a lot too. It'll do it... but not gonna be going up any hills in a hurry and better have your trailer brakes set right when you're heading down.
