HI and looking for the proper part number for.....

Post by army_nurse »

Hey

My Name is Mark and as you can tell i was an army guy. last year i perchased a 1967 ford f500 truck from GSA. i perchased the truck for the 600 gallon tank on the back of it and at that time had no interest in the truck. when we rolled the truck off the trailer i put it in gear and let out the clutch and it started. So now i cant let a perfectly good truck go to the scrap yard. It has 44333 miles. started life as an airforce fuel truck then was a water truck for a small fire department in S.E. Oklahoma. It was parked in 2002 due to brake problems and placed in a GSA sale in 2010. it has no dents, only surface rust , the 240 I-6 with a np 435 trans with a pto, the rockwell d100 axle with 6.80 to 1 gears. the original speedo and gauge cluster they all work. i need the proper number for the brake booster. correct me if i am wrong but when the brakes are applied the engine pulls down so i disconnected the vac hose from the booster and then reapplied the breaks and no problem with the engine pulling down and about cutting out. so i need a new break booster and am having difficulty finding what i am sure is the proper replacement part number. This truck will soon be getting a 10 foot bed as well as paint and the frame will get a coat of chassis saver. any help would be great and thanks in advance. i know this truck is a bit bigger than the f350 but this is the best place i could find on the net to fit the current difficulty i am having. so once again thanks for your help. also if anyone knows where is could find a spicer brownie box near OKC OK please let me know 50 mph is a bit slow but the low gearing is great for pulling.

thanks again
