Converting to Disc Brakes

Post by RandyBee1 »

I don't have to do this but a thought occured to me and I'm just curious.
When you convert to disc brakes, do you also need to upgrade the proportioning vavle too?

Yes, the drum brake system does not have a proportioning valve. You may need the master cylinder, proportioning valve, spindles, and I beams. Try to add a vacuum booster also. I think the best way is to find a complete donor truck. That way you don't have to search for hardware. See article for particulars - http://www.fordification.com/discbrakes01.htm
