FNG from KS

Post by Draw Bar »

So I go to a farm auction the other day and end up bidding on and winning a 1967 F250 4x4. Mainly because me son thought we could buy it and then sell it for a profit. But the more I mess around with it the more I think about keeping it. Everything is bone stock except the motor and tranny(and bumpers). Someone swapped a 292 and a tranny out of an F600. It all runs good and works fine except it tops out around 65 mph. Still on the fence about keeping it but I keep thinking about restoring it. Dropping in the 390 that my brother in law has since he wants the 292 for his F1. What do you guys think?
I would post pictures but they are too big(2MB) any idea on how to downsize them?

:wel: from SoCal. Which ever motor you end up with, I'm sure you'll be happy with. My opinion? the 390 of course!

Sounds like a great truck! Highboys are always keepers! As for pictures, just get a free Photobucket account and upload them there, and then you can directly link to the pictures in your posts and they will show up from Photobucket.

Dropping the 390 in that thing is the way to go! Especially if you already have the line on one and its a straight trade. You can't go wrong!

Thanks Forrest!

I am thinking about taking it back to the original Pebble Beige mabye adding white to the top, the grill and the letters on the back. Leaving that monster bumper and just repainting it. Although it's present form I rarely have people pull out in from of me. I wonder why? :D

Welcome aboard from Northern Ca. I just use paint to downsize em. Yes that is a good truck.
