1968 Ranger

Post by bassnsx »

Hello. I've got a 1968 F100 Ranger short bed with a 360 and a 3 speed. It's always been in my family and I am the third owner. It was built in Mahwah NJ and hasn't left New York (or probably a 50 mile radius) since it was bought new in '68. My dad bought it from his uncle in around 1980 for $500 after it had been repainted black over the original rangoon red and sat in a barn for a while. By the time I came around (1988) the truck was red again and functional and has always been garaged. It has about 45,000 miles on it and I have all of the original parts that have been removed and replaced with high performance components. Now it is mine and it is due for restoration again. Although it looks pretty good, my dad stated "I got really good at doing bad bodywork," so I intend to do lots of sheetmetal replacement and repaint it red again.

Good evening BassNSX,

Like Larry's saying, that's a great story! It's nice to have a truck that's been around in your family for a long time.
