JC Whittney springs

Post by spartman »

I need to replace the front springs on my "other" brand truck and am looking around for leaf springs for it.

Has anybody ordered springs from JCWhittney? If so how were they and were they any good?

I can get a set for my truck for about 105 dollars shipped to my door.

The closest place I can find them otherwise is in Sioux Falls (about 100 miles south) for 110 a piece.

I know this isn't for a ford but if you guys can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I know some folks dont care for JC. I have ordered many times and always got exactly what I paid for. (hint) I would have no problem with ordering again from them.

I think if JC is going to sell you a pair for less than half of what someone else want for one, that should ssy something about the quality you can expect from JC.

So what you are all saying is buyer beware?

I have ordered from them before and they had adequate items but that was about it.

Noticed that LMC has a set for sale also, however they want anywhere between $100-$200 a set.

Why can't this just be an easy purchase?

On something very basic like the suspension you are riding on, I would take no chances about quality. If you have any questions about what you are getting, pass on it and buy elsewhere. Most aftermarket parts are coming from overseas now. I think you need to know where and who manufactured it and have some confidence in the part. Does the part meet US Standards? Etc. Lots of questions to answer.

Greenone,
where are you located?

If they are willing to make something for me and the shipping won't kill me I would consider them.

recieved a reply from JCwhittney about where they are made.

These are made in Michigan USA by John R Spring and Service.

Just a quick update.

Contacted JCWhitney to order a set and was told that the price listed on the site was actually only for 1 spring not two as shown.

I can get springs delivered up from Sioux Falls from a truck place for the same money.

DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
